Although you can only see some of the image above in the sneak peek, I wanted to post the entire photo of the kids playing in the leaves.  You should have seen their faces.  When I announced that we needed to make a big leaf pile and play in them, they looked at me like “REALLY?…..We get to play?”  These kids are at the age where that’s ALL they want to do, so of course we’re going to play at your photo session.  We also had some fun as each of them squealed in delight as their dad threw them high up in the air.

These are the moments we want to remember in photos.  That day when all the kids were getting along and playing in the leaves.  Thank you so much “A” family for sharing your perfect fall day with me!  The light was beautiful and backlit and the weather wasn’t to cold.  You have a beautiful family that’s pretty  much perfect and I can’t wait to watch your kids grow through photos!  xoxo ~Katie

We planned the session for about an hour before sunset- my favorite time to shoot!  It was a beautiful day in Boise and can I just say that her ring was just stunning?  Although they had scheduled photos with me, they didn’t actually have the ring yet, but he surprised her with the proposal right before.  HOW SWEET!  Don’t worry, I’ll have a recap of their entire session once their engagement announcements/save the dates go out!

I swear these kids have the most perfect blue eyes and perfect tone skin.  They are BEAUTIFUL!  Her oldest daughter just got her very first horse and they wanted some photos.  It was a gorgeous day in western Washington and we had such a fun time.  Bonita even brought me a home made hamburger to eat, and it was GOOD! Here’s a few of my favorites!  I hear a red ribbon was just recently won at the fair, so things must be going good!

The day had me rising early because the shoot was on the east side of the Seattle area.  I’d never been over there before and I was extra excited because Emily had decided to have the majority of the session in their home.  This is one of my favorite places to photograph, especially for family’s with children, because your home is where everyone is the most comfortable!  I took some time to get to know everyone and then we shot around the house, in the backyard, on some trails in their neighborhood, down the tree lined streets with the blossoming spring trees, to the playground, and then finally back home to finish up a few portraits on the front porch!

Here’s a small sneak peek, I can’t wait to feature their whole session on the website!  You’ll notice some big changes on that site over the next few weeks….Enjoy!

The one thing I love about this family is the love you can see between the kids- the whole family really, but in past sessions I have always fallen in love with a few photos of the two kids together.  I think you can tell that they have really great parents if you can see the love between the kids.  My favorites are the two of them laying on the grass- well blanket- and laughing (It was muddy out there)!  They’re moving to Japan very soon, for a new adventure, and I wish them all the best!

If praying is something that you do, then please say a little prayer for this family that someone will feel a connection with them and give them the gift of another little life to share their family.  This family has been on the waiting list for a long time!  If you’d rather just sent good vibes and thoughts their way, I’m sure they’d appreciate that too.  Here’s just a sneak peek of the time we had……
