Saturday started early! This was the first day of my presentation and it started at 8am! I didn’t sleep at all the night before I was so nervous! But everything went well! My biggest fear was that no one would show up! But I was wrong and had a great show! After, we ate breakfast and then headed out for some more touristy stuff!
First stop? Buckingham Palace. We wanted to catch the changing of the guard so we got there early. But……somehow we weren’t in the right place and all we saw was hoards of people pressing their bodies up against the palace gates (which were impressive by the way). Somehow all I could think of when I saw all the people pressed up and sticking their arms through the gate was “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche”- Marie Antoinette saying “Let Them Eat Cake”. I know, I know, wrong country, but still, that’s what it reminded me of.

Obviously we figured out that we weren’t going to see the changing of the guard, so we wandered around the square a little bit and of course took pictures. And again, I wished I would have remembered my hat….

Next we headed over to Big Ben and I got my shots of that, and then off to the last stop of the day, Westminster Abbey.
Now I think I had Westminster Abbey confused for St. Pauls Cathedral, but it was still interesting. It’s size is breath taking and all the stained glass is also amazing! We weren’t allowed to take photos inside, but it was very interesting. This is where many of the Kings and Queens of England are buried. In crypts. Above ground. A little morbid with all the people milling around, but interesting still the same. Again, like all the other days, the history of the building amazes me!
One more day tomorrow![]()
