Well I’m home and finally getting some images up from my trip to England! I’m going to do this in a few parts, so the posts aren’t so monstrous! The first week in England was spent with a family from my church that lives near Hampton Court Palace (just outside of London) and then shooting the wedding up in Chesterfield with my friend Simon. The first few days was adjusting for sure. The 8 hour time difference coupled with really relying on mass transit for more than a stop or two was a little intimidating, but you know what? I DID IT!!! Now when I go back again, with Nathan of course, I’ll be an old pro![]()
So here’s some of the places I visited in the first week before my mom came and joined me……

Next my host family took me to Kingston, a few miles from their house and showed me this piece of art with the famous English Telephone booths. It was a pretty cool sculpture and I loved the colors and the Little Italy cafe across the foot path. They also helped me experience authentic Fish & Chips that night and it was delish!

On my last day, we visited the Parish Church of St. Mary’s at Walton on the Thames. I’m a sucker for history and old things and this was really cool to me. Some form of this church has been around since 1086 and most of the modern day church there today dates back to the 14th and 15th century…..still pretty old! However, there has been a church on this site dating back to 780 AD! The front architecture today is Norman but there are 5 pillars inside that date to 1150! It’s just amazing to me to think about them being around all this time and how many people have walked past them. It was just a beautiful church inside and out, and of course, the staple graveyard all around the outside grounds.

there was a little tiny door just to the right of the entrance, that had a winding stone staircase up to who knows where. I REALLY wanted to go up and explore, but I restrained myself and kept out of places I probably wasn’t allowed. Seriously though it was like an Alice in Wonderland tiny little door![]()

The rest of the days I prepared for my presentations for SWPP, until my mom came in from Boise……I DID actually have to work a little over there too. After missing a flight due to pilots being late, staying the night in Minneapolis because of missing the connecting flight, being rerouted to Amsterdam and losing her luggage. My mom finally arrived!

Stay tuned tomorrow for our first day visit to The Tower of London!
