For exactly four years, all of our spring and summers have been the same. Nathan is in the military, and being in the military, is gone for long periods of time a lot. I don’t think Nathan has seen one summer here in Washington. Well this year has changed. He’s on his rotation of being able to stay home for a few years and we’re finally getting some great spring weather. Perfect weather to me is somewhere between 75 and 85 degrees, sunny skies and a slow gentle breeze.
Today was one of those perfect days and we decided to make it a day all for the kids. We took them down to one of the local skateboard parks. My middle child loves skateboarding. Although he’s still getting it down, he started asking for a skateboard since he was 3 years old. I waited a year and he kept asking, so for his 4th birthday we got him a one. This year for Christmas, Santa brought him a bigger skateboard and all the pads for it. He watches the bigger kids at the parks and then with determination on his face, get’s both feet on that skateboard and somehow manages to stay on. The other two boys love the park too, although my oldest hurt himself today and told me he was never going to go skateboarding again……he’s more my intellectual child and loves gaming. Even Nathan got on the board and tried his thing…….I’ve been sworn to never post some images I got of him wiping out a few times! Here’s a few snapshots of our day….here’s to hoping we continue having those perfect days!
