Congratulations go out to Rachelle! She is the first recipient of the annual “Giving is Awesome” giveaway from my studio! Earlier this evening I called her to inform her of her nomination and winning and she was so sweet. She almost couldn’t believe that this was REALLY a free giveaway, but I finally convinced her. I received her nomination from Sarah, and here’s a little snippet from that letter I received from Sarah:
“Rachelle has been a single, working mom, and going to school for most of her adult life. She has a 9 year old son, 2 year old daughter, and just found out she is blessed to be expecting her 3rd child in the summer of 2009. She was married back in the fall….and is currently looking for a new place to live. She said, “I really hope this
works out. I would love a house before Christmas. I want to be able to give my children a house for Christmas so I can show them that everything will be alright.” She doesn’t have a Christmas tree because she wants to wait and see if she has a home.
I wanted to cry. I never realized how blessed I was to have a house for my family especially this close to the holidays. With her having two children and being pregnant with her third, having a roof over her head should not be her worry. She should be worried about what kind of wrapping paper to get for presents or how to decorate a nursery…It was then that it clicked in my head how deserving Rachelle and her family are of this gift. Rachelle is the type of person that gives as much as she can for other people and for her kids. She is going to school to better her life and better the life of her children……”
Congratulations Rachelle you have won $1,000 in FREE custom photography! I will send more information in the next few days. I also want to say thank you to all of you who nominated a special person you knew. It was a really hard decision, but this will be the first of many years of this giveaway….Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
